Taking care of a high carbon steel knife
If you have bought a knife from us, it will be made of high carbon steel, not with an empty metal. We recommend we can wash it, just hit it as soon as you have finished using it and put it in. You can wash it hand if necessary, but do not leave the water in it, so do not get in the bath water and do not leave it in dry air in the oven. Wash and dry immediately.
No matter how well you notice your knife will be the grayest color over time, you'll be marking and not getting light. This is normal, there's nothing unhappy about, it's just iron. Other foods, such as salts and onions, will be observed immediately because of the acidic nature. You can cure it in high light and, (using grinder or polisher) but it is not necessary for knitting, cosmetic only. That's what many European stripes are like, what is known as black metal. To accelerate the process and have the same color, anoint the character with half an onions. We sell a large diamond waste eraser to extract some marks at a certain rate, but it will always appear to be a visible patina.
Steel metal is a hard and durable metal and will last longer than stainless steel. Using your handmade damascus hunting knives correctly you need to have a sharp target once a month and with a steel to do once a week. This is that you use it daily.
Only the lowest side of carbon steel will be worn out if you do not care for it. In order to prevent this, keep your knife clean and dry as possible after use, and use the easy to cover oils from time to time. Cooking knives, olives, vegetables, canola or sunflower oils well. In some knives, light fats are like those that are used for suitable anointing, any of the cooking utensils mentioned above. Some of the oil can be poured into your nose or knife, then grow again, producing a water-filled environment to keep your knife.
When you get warm areas, the light can be pulled out of the steel furnace so it can be removed by using dry and dry paper. Start with 400 grit and work up to 800 and complete with the best polish metal polish, eg. Autosol.
